CHURCH EVENTS TO KEEP IN MIND
Mid-Week Evening Bible Study: St. Paul's Mid-Week Evening Bible Study on World Religions and how they affect Christians today has resumed each Wednesday with the study on Mormonism. The discussion format is based off of C.S. Lewis's concept of 'Mere Christianity' as found in the Gospel of John 14:2 "In my Father's house are many rooms." We will have a play area set up for children and it will be supervised if needed, so don't use them as an excuse. Our study will begin promptly at 7:15 and will conclude promptly at 8:15pm.
Confirmation Classes: Classes have resumed for confirmation. Class starts at 11:30 A.M.
Youth/Sunday School News: Fourth Sundays will be set aside for youth meetings from 10:15 - 11:15 a.m. We will have a short meeting and a fun event each fourth Sunday. This is open to all 6th - 12th graders.
Breakfast: The Ladies Aide is sponsoring a breakfast on October 1st after Worship.
Annual Church Dinner: The Annual Church Dinner at St. Paul's will be November 5th. A sign-up sheet for helping will be in the church Narthex this Sunday, September 17th. They are asking all members to bring two pies and are in need of workers and eaters as well. Bake and craft sale items are needed for the Dinner Bazaar.
Special Reformation Service: Plans are being made for a Special Reformation Service on October 29th.
Special Hanging of the Greens Service: A special service for "Hanging of the Greens" is being planned for Sunday, November 19, 9:00 A.M.
Be sure to watch your newsletter, Facebook page, website and bulletins for more information about all the upcoming events.
Operation Shoebox: The youth of the church will again sponsor the Operation Christmas Child Mission and would like your help! We will be assembling shoeboxes to be distributed to children all over the world. We will be collecting items monthly. We will provide a schedule of what items we are collecting that month and provide a tub in the back of the church for collection of these items. However, you can donate any items throughout the year-so check those clearance aisles! Last year we packed over 100 boxes! Let's go for 120! We will be requesting monetary donations to offset the cost of shipping these boxes out to children. Each box costs $7.00 to ship. All items should be new condition. Please don't include anything damaged or breakable, glass or aerosol cans. If you have any questions about Operation Shoebox or the Youth involvement with the project, please contact Hannah Slovensky, Liana, Sherri, or Rachel Angel.
September: T-shirts, socks, underwear, etc.
Mail Boxes: Please check your mailbox regularly for any mail. If you see mail in a mailbox, and see that member, would you please remind them that they have mail.
Cookbooks: We've included all of the recipes from those members who are no longer with us up through our current congregation. It is a hard cover 3 ring binder cookbook full of hints, tips, substitutions, and over 650 recipes.
Copies are $20 each or 5 for $75. You can contact the church office or Toni Schwartz at firstname.lastname@example.org.
